I wrote and/or edited more than 70 website standards used for EDS-developed internal and client websites worldwide. Because of my knowledge of web standards and content development, I performed as both an in-depth editor and a subject-matter expert.

Here you see the home page plus an MS Word page of my edits for the Metrics standard. These 70 standards covered a full range of issues including website content, usability, visual design, functionality, and accessibility to disabled web users.

Created Self-Provisioning Sales Pursuit Microsite tool user guide in MS Word; accessible as PDF from HP intranet.

Also used Adobe Captivate to create the web-based training for this tool, which allowed non-technical HP sales and marketing staff to create a custom sales pursuit site for a prospective client in less than 30 minutes.

From the tool description: “HP salespeople pursuing smaller deals in the $100,000 to $100 million range can now leverage the power and speed of a sales pursuit microsite.

Brought to you by Enterprise Services Marketing and Sales, the Sales Pursuit Microsites tool gives you an easy and effective way to share sales and marketing materials with your clients and prospects. These targeted, secure web sites deliver solution information tailored to your clients’ business issues.

With this tool, you can create a microsite in under 10 minutes using four easy steps—giving your clients the luxury to explore HP capabilities whenever they want.”

I’ve developed so many project standards style guides that I’ve lost count, but this one that I created for the EDS Rebar and other projects is a good example.

I developed this survey and conducted data analysis on its results for EDS Corporate Security using a Microsoft Word doc sent to employees through Microsoft Mail. Goals were:

  • Determine effectiveness of the Virus Awareness Month campaign and materials in changing users’ behavior.

  • Determine how well the campaign and materials reached EDS employees.

I programmed the Word form and used MS Excel to analyze and illustrate results in both an executive summary for high-level EDS leaders and in a document providing more detail if needed.

The shortest of seven major guides I created and customized for my primary audience, EDS software developers using the Rebar tool to design web applications. Several of these guides were only one-page outlines when I began.

I also developed the training/documentation guide standards and format for the Architecture Services division where the Rebar tool was designed.
