Used Adobe Captivate to create web-based training for the HP Self-Provisioning Sales Pursuit Microsite “wizard” tool, which allowed non-technical HP sales and marketing staff to create a custom sales pursuit site for a prospective client in less than 30 minutes.

Also created Self-Provisioning Sales Pursuit Microsite tool user guide in MS Word; accessible as PDF from HP intranet.

From the tool description: “HP salespeople pursuing smaller deals in the $100,000 to $100 million range can now leverage the power and speed of a sales pursuit microsite.

Brought to you by Enterprise Services Marketing and Sales, the Sales Pursuit Microsites tool gives you an easy and effective way to share sales and marketing materials with your clients and prospects. These targeted, secure web sites deliver solution information tailored to your clients’ business issues.

With this tool, you can create a microsite in under 10 minutes using four easy steps—giving your clients the luxury to explore HP capabilities whenever they want.”

(Note: I’m only allowed to show user guide title page and table of contents online—and not the online tool.)

Demo showing how to request access to an Electronic Data Systems (EDS) online invoicing system. Created other CiT training that required user practice interaction.

Also created much longer tutorials, including one that was almost 100 screens long. The example you'll see here is the shortest of the web-based tutorials and demos I developed, created with Adobe Captivate.

In less than three months (with no other staff available), I researched, designed, developed, and implemented a seven-hour, instructor-led computer lab course to train Plano ISD staff to use the new network and email system that EDS was implementing in all Plano ISD sites. I created an instructor manual (175 pages) and student manual (144 pages) containing extensive screen graphics, a quick reference, and numerous practice files for hands-on work. I taught the course pilot to Plano ISD Human Resources (HR) trainers, who then took over the instruction as part of a train-the-trainer arrangement. I've included the following samples here:

  • Section 6: File Management and Sharing (Instructor Manual)—this complete section illustrates the course's depth and format. (Instructor's notes are boxed and in italics; 32-page sample.)

With SME, I co-developed and co-taught this three-day instructor-led course to all Corporate Security division managers and their direct reports.

This 5-page sample shows cover plus table of contents; this is all I can show because of EDS Security guidelines.
